Westlake nestles up against the Silvermine Mountains, overlooking the southern reaches of the Peninsula and False Bay, situated across the road from the Steenberg Wine Estate it is only 10 minutes drive from Sunset.

Westlake is recognized as being the best winter course in the Cape as when Mother Nature hurls her worst, the gentle sloping topography allows rainwater to run away.

Over the past ten years, there can only have been a handful of occasions that the course has been closed - and then it has been because of unceasing rain. The layout may show few troubles, but when the "Cape Doctor" - the prevailing summer South-Easterly wind blows - this benign course is transformed into one of the most challenging anyone could hope to encounter.
