The new lighthouse from Dias Lookout Point at the end of the trail along the False Bay side Cape Point.

It had taken 6 years to build this lighthouse (1913 to 1919) and it became operational the same year as the Slangkop lighthouse at Kommetjie. Six years may seem a long time but if one walks the path from Cape Maclear to Cape Point along some of the steepest sea cliffs in the world then it becomes clear why.
