Almost
effortlessly the canoeist slides across Sunset Reef colored a golden orange
by the setting son. A small trail of turbulence follows. Often when
the sun sets and the day turns to twilight there is no wind at all,
the sea becomes quiet. The world prepares for the night, even the birds
are quiet.
Other
than just cruising around for pleasure a variety of canoes are launched
from Sunset Beach during the crayfishing season when fisherman use baited
nets attached to floats to catch crayfish. |

Occasional
fishermen with more specialized canoes are encountered as well.
As fierce as Sunset Beach can be so quiet and serene can she
be a temporary haven for a varied flotilla. The almost completely rock
free shore-line makes it safe even for amateurs and dodgy craft to launch. |
