Bay. The perfect wave! And this is only the tiny shore break. Perfection for the surfer and a beautiful stretch of pure white sand with crystal clear blue water for the beach lover to enjoy. Totally un-crowded beach for those who love the beach and enjoy being away from the maddening crowed. Whatever you enjoy doing on the beach and in the shore Long Beach will provide. (The virtual Beach Tour provides some details). The beach stretch from in front of the Beach House to the rocky point that extends round to the Kom. The water is cold 9 - 12 degrees C but not icy and in summer heat of the African son provides for a refreshing bodysurf or splash about. For those who want to stay in longer a wetsuit is required. The outside at Long Beach ("Inner Kom") provides the perfect wave for the young, less experienced and less fanatical riders while "Outer Kom" and Sunset Reef is perfect for the Big Wave fanatics, adrenaline junctions and the professionals. Long Beach provides for the entire range of suffers and there is so much space that you can find your own peak on most days, if you like to surf on your own. All within walking distance of Sunset Beach Guest House. |
