Leucospermum
growing on the
Small Slangkop mountains behind the Beach
House. These
plants ultimately grow into massive flowering trees and are widespread in
the area of Kommetjie. All proteas are slow growing plants and take a
number of years before reaching respectable size. Four Leucospermum conocarpodendrons were planted in the front garden at the Beach House in July 2000. They all flowered in summer and then proceeded to grow vigorously. |
